Position Summary

As Canada's Largest Autodesk Platinum partner, SolidCAD specializes in providing cutting-edge CAD/BIM/GIS solutions to our clients across Canada. We offer innovative technology solutions and consulting services aimed at optimizing project workflows and enhancing efficiency and optimize project outcomes for our clients. As result of our on-going growth, we are seeking a talented and motivated Technical Consultant to join our Civil Infrastructure & GIS division. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Civil 3D and BIM technologies, with additional experience in GIS being a plus.

In the position, the candidate will continually develop expertise in Autodesk’s Civil Infrastructure Solutions. The candidate will work closely with our sales team, contributing to pre-sale activities such as business process assessments (BPAs), discoveries, proof of concepts, and technology demonstrations. Following sales, the candidate will provide comprehensive software training ranging from fundamental to expert levels, undertake implementation tasks, offer project-specific mentoring, and deliver ongoing support services. Additionally, will support clients in establishing distinctive workflows, customizations, and standards pertinent to their utilization of Civil 3D and complementary technologies.

In this role, you will...

Responsibilities:
• Work closely with the sales team to identify and develop high-value service opportunities aligning with team goals and technical strengths.
• Analyze customer requirements and provide formal responses addressing business scenarios and challenges, including proposals, statements of work, recommendations, and project plans.
• Conduct pre-sale business process assessments, discovery calls, proof of concepts, and technology demonstrations. Post-sale, deliver consulting services, software training, implementation, and support services.
• Assist clients in defining unique workflows, customizations, and standards related to their use of Civil 3D and complementary technologies.
• Collaborate with the internal team to contribute to responses for RFPs and public tenders.
• Participate in regularly scheduled meetings with clients and internal teams. Contribute to recording meeting minutes, assisting with action item delegation, reviewing completed work, and documenting any issues, risks, or concerns.
• Maintain accurate project records in Salesforce.
• Assist marketing in creating project success stories and content for the website and social media channels. Participate in marketing events.
• Maintain a working knowledge of Autodesk Civil Infrastructure solutions and stay up to date on industry trends and best practices.

About you...

Job Requirements:

• Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D for application with surveying, land development, transportation, storm & sanitary or landscape design.
• Familiarity with project workflows and producing design deliverables, adhering to industry-specific CAD standards for the civil engineering disciplines.
• Minimum 5 years experience within the Civil Infrastructure sector.
• Professional-level training and mentoring experience related to the use of design technology including a thorough understanding of workflows, roles, and deliverables in a typical civil engineering project.
• Understand the fundamentals of deploying software, licensing, and configuration concepts, especially related to templates, project setup, standards, and content management.
• Strong documentation skills for conveying design solutions, technical proposals, and training materials.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage varying workloads, and take initiative to ensure task completion.
• Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills for optimal interactions between clients, technical team, sales team, operations, and management.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the province and occasionally other parts of Canada.

• Ability to customize or develop CAD apps or add-ons.
• Experience in data management and spatially enabled database experience.
